TMA-KG Kalyuka G, Taiga Musical Artel
The sounds of the Kalyuki are built on a natural scale, missing notes performers sometimes sing themselves, imitating the sharp and sibilant sound of the instrument with a voice. Traditionally it was made from plants such as angelica and motherwort. It was used as a ritual and rhythmic instrument. On kaljuka one plays with overblows, covering the bottom hole in the rhythm with the fingers or the palm of the hand.
Material of whistle and tip: wood elm.
Impregnation with oil.
Body: aluminum tube with natural winding.
